The Desktop Training and Documentation team is comprised of seasoned technical writers, instructional designers, eLearning developers, and trainers who work collaboratively to design and develop training solutions.

Our trainers are subjects matter experts in the various LPS Desktop® suite of applications, and deliver training to a variety of users either onsite or virtually via web conferencing capabilities.

Strategy

Our training strategy is developed based on adult learning theory and focuses on four main principles:

  • Just in time training
Self-service learning tools like Online Help and ‘show me’ demos are available through the application to allow users the ability to quickly access the functional steps and procedures.
  • 24/7 learning
Online learning (WBTs, Simulations, etc) is available via the Learning & Resource Portal 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Blended approach
The learning experience is a blend of prerequisite online training (via various eLearning tools), and instructor-led sessions.  This approach to training ensures that the participants are receiving information in various formats to target different learning styles.
  • Hands-on
Use classroom training to focus on critical and complex topics providing hands-on experience where necessary.

Methodology

The training is delivered as problem-driven, performance-based training that contains information related to LPS Desktop applications, and industry-specific terms and requirements.

Knowledge transfer is accomplished through:

  • instructor-led discussions
  • exercises
  • instructional games
  • accelerated learning activities
  • and practice simulations

Participants will be evaluated throughout training, and will be provided with group and individual feedback.

The primary goal of the training program is to build a long-term foundation for learning beyond the implementation period; to enable and facilitate effective knowledge and performance of system transactions.  In support of this goal, the training strategy focuses on two key objectives:

  • To Deliver Performance-Based Training - The objectives of our training strategy are the demonstrable performance of the skills and knowledge under the systemic and environmental conditions in which these skills and knowledge will be required upon conversion.
  • To Deliver Referenced-Based Training - The design and development of the training program will ensure that participants have ample opportunity to apply their newly acquired knowledge and skills through real-life exercises and hands-on practices. An Online Help Guide (User Guide) is developed and referenced throughout the training to ensure that participants feel comfortable navigating through the screens, menus, and functions of the application.
